Oprah, You're right about friendships (and even family members in my case) that envy is a relationship destroyer. However, the more evolved/work we do on ourselves as women we will find that envy shows us what we want. We are conditioned to subjugate our wants to other people's needs...so in our culture most women do not even know what they want! My mother who was born in 1930, did not indulge her wants...Mostly, women who don't like other women and who say, I don't know, there's something about her I don't like. Bingo. It's most certainly envy for this other woman is doing something that she does not allow in/for herself. Having confidence, speaking up about wants and needs, not settling for less than she deserves...most confident women are disliked or knocked down.

I was very jealous when I was cheated on. I had to do a lot of work to get past f those toxic emotions. This was back when I was i my 30's and I am now 67 years old. It is painful to feel those emotions.

Envy it always take me off gaurd because at first I'm not aware then when I can see it. It becomes hard for me to believe that this person can be so envy for me. What I can do now is to just led them be rather than fighting to win them back and trying to let them see that they don't need to be jealous of me I'm also like them. Envy is something I don’t believe I have right to feel toward any one’s happiness or success. I judge myself and say to myself “ they have a right to success and happiness “! We let celebrate with them in my heart and mind inside and then outward to them. Envy, imagine your whole life being envious of your cousin. How horrible to hold such greed and envy😧, hopefully it wasn't because of the firebird her mother bought her, (and not you doris or debvil). Which is from their cousin's mother being a successful, single parent, black mother, who became an executive secretary with the 7up co, in a time of segregation reform. Imagine the mindframe of the other cousins, who could do nothing more than envy the successful woman's child(her cousin), . so much that in the future, during a life threatening moment, rather than provide help, these envious cousins decided to "make up" false accusations to they could TRY and steal from her and her family. How sad that people can hold that much jealousy, greed, and envy....for so many years.(over 30years) What's worse is how "those people", pretend to be your friend, or worse, claim to be a christian...until you pull the FOIA, find out who made the accusation. Then you take a vacation, just so you can pursue them, "civilly" 🐾 ENVY, a family destroyer.

Ms.Whinfrey, to answer your questions, what would I do differently now that jealousy & envy surfaced in my freinds & family relationships.

My answer would be " Reserve", certain freinds & family, who arent pleased with their lives and or their current situation will not be pleased hearing of the positive things in yours.

I would say to others, know your audience before you speak.
