When i was a young pup working it the factory i admired to old guys. The ones that fought the big war. Lived hard snd worked hard. Had integrity and their word was worth something. Hands that testified the miles of hard labor. Stories that i now share with my grandchildren. Now im that old guy. Worked in that same factory for 49 years. Started at the bottom and made it to the top. Thankful for every day. Chris is second to none in his music. Great song.

My dad died 10/19/24 and he is now my rainbow. I sing this song and cry every single time. When my daughter sees any type of rainbow she says it’s him. ❤ He died of lung cancer and fought as hard as he could to hang on for his family. He was my rock and my best friend. He casted off these earthly chains and went away where there’s no more pain. I miss you every day Bobby Thompson. We will be together again one day west of where the sun sets, where rainbows NEVER die.

This song reminds me of my daddy. Before he passed when he was sick he used to always say, “ I’m so old I can’t do nothing”. When I heard this song it instantly made me think of daddy. He was also a Christian and whil I’m not a religious man I was there when daddy took his last breath and I believe from his reaction he saw an angel come into that room to escort him to glory. I love this song bc it reminds me of my hero, my dad, Gary Smith.

I played this song as my dog was laid to rest. Best 12 years of my life. I know this is not everyone’s consensus but I think this song is about a dog. At least it is to me. Rest in peace my good boy Floyd I can’t wait to see you at the rainbow bridge.

Like many, this great song makes me think of my father. As a young man, you don't realize the sacrifices a father makes for his family. Then you have your own family and...finally...you realize. Gracias papa...te quiero muchisimo.

My dad was in the hospital thermal with full kidney and liver failure. He fought hard to spend extras days with us kids. Then he sent this song to my brother and I. I just told him he’s fought a long fight he can’t win when he calls you have to go. You’re my hero dad! 7-7-20. He gets laid to rest with his mom and pop tom

My dad mentioned offhand that he wanted this song played at his funeral. Gave it a listen a few days later… Wow. Let’s just say if I’d had listened to it with him a few days ago I would have cried right in front of him.

Thanksgiving day of 2020 my mom was sitting next to me after we had finished dinner. It was a beautiful, sunny, warm day in TX. She said that she thought she had been around long enough. 4 days later she woke up, had breakfast, visited with the nurse and wanted to lay down for a nap. She was fond of naps. The moment her head hit the pillow she had a massive stroke and that was the end of her great adventurous life on earth. Now she lives a glorious life where rainbows never die.

For my Dad who passed away October 19th. You're suffering is over, hope you're fishing at one of your favorite spots like you did as a boy.
