What I found most interesting, was the significantly the more rapid initial uptake of the far left above the equilibrium. While obviously the 2nd cylinder (from the left) was able to sustain higher lift due to smaller void volume... I would like to perform this test on my own with aggregate closer to the size of the left-most cylinder... just to see what particular size aggregate would exhibit the hughest rate of uptake, and what effects ambient temperature/pressure have on the rate.

(Note: I'm a glutton for punishment, in terms of number crunching... as I tend to focus on points of diminishment/diminishing action)

short and to the point!!! great video! so I'm assuming the maximum rise of the water from the surface of the water is approximately 6"? does elevation has any effect on the height of capillary effect? Thanks!

Please what happens when the 3 soil sample are grinded into fine particles? Will the capillaryr rise still be the same?
