Sonic comes face to face with his doppelgänger, Metal Sonic. Knuckles goes in for a punch, but Tails stops him. Sonic makes it clear: Metal wants a race. Knuckles begrudgingly accepts.
All four stand in front of the door. Sonic and Tails charge a spin dash, while Knuckles does some stretches. Metal revs his back... jet... thing.
The door opens, and four streaks of color burst out of the doorway. A purple figure watches this whole exchange from an air vent.

i really appreciate the effort that went into each of these ost uploads, all with their unique backgrounds. you guys could have just uploaded them with the only visuals as the title screen or something, but you went out of your way to make the listening experience on youtube that much better. props to you guys for this, and also for 2.2 as a whole because it's really good. keep up the good work!

metal sonic V metal sonic is the most satisfying thing ever, being able to blast through what used to be obstacles that were the only thing keeping the both of you equals is a powerful feeling I don't think any game will ever be able to replicate to this degree ever again

I like how there's just _so_ many different ways to go about the race. Each character and, hell, even the modded characters, have different faster paths—for example, that one part where there's an impassable spike barrier that could only be feasibly broken by Amy in the base-game? Cacee can do that just fine!
