I'm pretty sure the German T1 can use the IRIS-T missile, but it's simply the case that the game isn't ready for missiles like that yet.
I hope they give us the block 5 so it can do CAS.

The Tranche 1 CAN use the IRIS-T though. We're almost certainly not going to get the IRIS-T or comparable missiles, but unless it's the literal prototype model, it CAN carry the IRIS-T.

Well it seems that the F/A-18 is not coming this update, most likely it will arrive as the main vehicle in the next update as the F-14 did in Danger Zone.

We could be getting a Tranche 1 Block 5 with air to ground for both which I would prefer for all nations. They can do a Block 2 or a DA series plane as event vehicle to represent a CAS-less EF-2000. I think a non CAS version would be disappointing for such a hyped plane.

Anything that can carry Sidewinders can carry IRIS-T, just not with its full range of features. Still the most agile missile in the world.

From a while ago I met a chief technician who worked on the typhoon f.2 in the RAF, and confirmed that block 1 typhoon tranche 1s couldn’t carry any ground munitions whatsoever, only the block 3 onwards and further tranches could, whether it be guided or unguided. The FGR was a different aircraft, with different hard points and internal systems/avionics in order to be able to employ ground weapons. For context he was (don’t know if he still is) managing the dry storage of older tranche 1 typhoons at RAF Shawbury for Babcock, so knew what he was talking about.
