Life story:
Confucius, also known as Kong Fuzi (Kong the Master) or simply as Confucius, was a Chinese philosopher and educator who lived during the Spring and Autumn period of ancient China. He was born on September 28, 551 BCE, in the state of Lu (present-day Qufu in Shandong province, China). Confucius is one of the most influential figures in Chinese history and his teachings have profoundly shaped Chinese culture and society.

Confucius was born into a noble family, but his early life was marked by poverty and hardship after the early death of his father. Despite his humble beginnings, he received a solid education and became well-versed in the Six Arts - ritual, music, archery, charioteering, calligraphy, and mathematics.

Throughout his life, Confucius served in various government positions, aiming to implement his ideas of good governance and ethical leadership. He advocated for moral integrity, justice, and the importance of benevolent rule, believing that a virtuous ruler could bring stability and harmony to society.

Confucius also traveled extensively throughout China, imparting his wisdom to students and seeking like-minded individuals to join him in his mission to promote moral education and ethical conduct. He established a school, which became known as the Ru School, attracting many disciples who were eager to learn from his teachings.

The Analects, a collection of Confucius's sayings and conversations with his disciples, became one of the most important texts of Confucianism. These teachings emphasized the importance of family, respect for elders, filial piety, and the cultivation of moral character.

Although Confucius's ideas were not always well-received during his lifetime, his philosophy gained popularity after his death. Confucianism became the dominant philosophical and ethical system in China, influencing government policies, education, and social values for centuries to come.

Confucius passed away at the age of 73, on April 11, 479 BCE. His legacy as a great thinker and educator endured throughout the ages, and he is still highly revered as one of the greatest sages in Chinese history. Confucianism remains a significant cultural and philosophical force, not only in China but also in various East Asian countries influenced by Chinese traditions.
