New Military Gourmet MRE Bacon Cheese Burger

My first MRE was in 1984 and I'll never forget it. Eating meatballs in BBQ sauce at 4:00 in the morning before a 20 mile road march. Man did my stomach hate me that morning. My fav was the freeze-dried pork patty, properly reconstituted and torn up in the applesauce it was good eats.

I’m a civilian and never have been in the military. First off thank you for serving this great nation.👍🏻 I love eating MREs...lol. I work right down the road from an Air Force Base and I work with a bunch of former military fellas and every once in a while They take a trip to the commissary and pick up a few and share them. Good stuff.

Used to make those burgers back in the 70's when the IRP's were called still "Rat Packs" :) ... Almost everything came in cans then (cheese in a can) ... even two slices of REAL cooked bacon (in a "pudding cup" style can) .... for burgers we used sliced up meat balls or swiss steak in gravy, and chilli-con-carni ... and the same darn hard crackers for buns though :)

Oh God any meal with eggs sucked. I love eggs but MREs or the old C rations (yeah now I'm showing my age) truly sucked. That was one suck that I couldn't embrace.
