What Does 'Keep From' Mean in Revelation 3:10? (A Non-Pretibulation Rapture Interpretation)

I was a pre-trib believer for several years until I started finding problems. This is one of them. Don't take my word for it. Look it up yourself. If we actually read a Greek concordance and look up Revelation 3:10 this is what we find: the Greek word that is translated as "keep" in revelation 3:10 is the word "tereo" and it means, "To guard or protect by keeping the eye upon." It absolutely does NOT mean to protect by removing from that time. By the way, it is the same word (tereo) that is used in John 17:15 where Jesus says, "I do not pray that You should take them out of the world, but that You should KEEP them from the evil one."

Another example of spiritual preservation vs. physical death is from the Olivette Discourse in Luke 21:16, 18 “Some of you they will put to death” (v16) “But not a hair of your head will perish” (v18). Not perishing does not mean avoiding being put to death by persecutors.

John 17 Jesus asks His church to be kept from the evil one. That is accomplished as we are sealed by the Holy Spirit.

In Revelation 3 Jesus says He will keep the church from, not the trials, but the TIME (hora) of trial coming upon the whole earth.

If the church were going to be kept from the trials, then Jesus would have told the church He would keep them from the trials. But that isn’t what He said. He said He will ‘ek tereo’ from the time, or season, of trials.

If the church is on the earth being protected from the trials, then we are not actually being kept from the time, because we would be living through it.

There’s only one way to be kept out of a period of time…

The tribulation saints are the people who are saved during the tribulation after the rapture.

When Jesus comes to gather his church he does not come down to earth, we meet him in the sky. And only us believers will see and here him. This is not his second coming. Praying for y’all. If you don’t believe, you will be left behind.

Funny thing, my grandad is a Catholic (the eastern European sort), and he and I were discussing the idea of a pretribulation rapture. He frankly asked, "what a secret coming? Wouldn't that make three comings in total?"
Moral of the story, even Catholics are convinced there is no pretribulation rapture lol

All I can say, is be careful what you wish for... even if you are wishing it on your fellow brothers and sisters in Christ, don't forget that you are also by default wishing it on yourself... something to think about...

The marriage supper takes place on earth, Revelation chapter 19 when Jesus comes to fight the battle of Armageddon.

The 70 weeks in Daniel are for Israel, and this includes the 7 year tribulation, which is called "The Time of Jacob's Trouble". Not the time of anyone else's trouble. God changed Israel's name to Jacob.

Isaiah 57:1 u can be kept from this by dying and going to be with the Lord, as a matter of fact it says that nobody will consider when the righteous die that it will be to soare them from th😢 evil that is to come.

You better study a little bit more and put the scriptures in context. The tribulation is the time that God brings the Jews into submission and punish the world for sins. He doesn't want us around for this horrific time. There is no way a Cristian can survive during that time.

Moses is a type of Jesus right? A foreshadow. Thus he was saved from death as a baby, grew up in Egypt, like Jesus did for several years, and came to his people as a redeemer and they rejected him first (Exo 2:14, Acts 7:35) and then Moses returns to Egypt and tribulation takes place. Was Moses married before or after the plagues? Was the woman he married a Jew or a Gentile? Was the woman he married mentioned as being in or affected by the plagues?
