Why I chose Rhino?

I use Rhino for creating jewellery models. I must say I like the program very much. Sometimes it can be a bit buggy with surfaces and when you use the Boolean functions but for the most part, it works great.

What I like the most is that you are always in "Command" mode - you can use the UI to find and select tools but you will quickly pick up how to type the commands that make you access the tools quickly. Also that it remembers which tools you use the most so they appear first if you start typing a command.

I came from 3ds Max and Rhino was my first CAD/NURBS software.

Hey! I am a mechanical engineer, so far only working with 'classical' engineering 3d CAD software. But I am learning Rhino now because I want to get more into industrial design. I just started one day ago, some tools are kinda familar when you come from Engineering CAD, some are completely different. I already enjoy the design freedom here. The possibility to get a full commercial license if you are academic staff (like me) is also a incredible advantage. I'm looking forward to designing cool things. Thanks for your videos!

I've been interested in CAD for a long while. But without much literature at hand, I didn't really know there were various categories of CAD. Begining with Autocad, I realised that it wasn't really for me as it lacked organic 3D modeling capabilities. I moved over to inventor and Creo (Pro/E). Those are very good doe mechanical design but also cumbernsome for organic design. I almost fell for Blender, but realised that though it's good at organic design, it's all subD modelling and its CAD precision input is just an after thought. So that landed me in Rhino which is basically AutoCAD on steroids. Straightforward surfacing capabilites and decent precision input.

Is this any good for games modeling can it produce good clean topology and UVs, I haven't seen much on polygon meshes?

What is the advantage of Rhino over MoI3D ?
Some people say MoI3D is better than Rhino because it is more user-friendly and you can create a shape more speedy.
But others say Rhino is better.
I don't know which is right.
It would be appreciated if you would tell us topic around these.

195 euro as price for version doesn't feel like affordable price for student, especially if we compare it to any software from Autodesk which are TOTALLY FREE . students pay 0 for any software owned by Autodesk!
