Hello world,

So here is how you change the battery & time of the Bulova Cal 214 - Which is also the same cal as the Spaceview so technically this is a "spaceview". I will look for a spaceview during 2022. Hopefully i will buy it :-) They tend to cost more than 300$.

Enjoy,

Thanks for your video. I have an Accutron Spaceview that my parents gave me when I graduated from high school. I wore it until it quit working in the 80's. I saved it and hoped that I could get it repaired someday. Years later, I couldn't find it and was afraid that it was lost. After searching through the house for several days, I found it hiding in an old Seiko watch box! I'm going to try buying the right battery and see if that fixes it. Thanks for showing the correct battery and how to install it.

Hi! Thanks for the video! It's quite rare to find videos about this magnificent watch! I followed the exact same steps, but in my case, I'm using a 394 battery, and the watch is taking 2 minutes to run a whole revolution. Have you ever seen anything like that?

I have just replaced the battery in my vintage Accutron, which looks just like your example, and the battery does fit as you demonstrate. I used a new 387S as the replacement. Now, during the course of one hour running, the watch gains 17 minutes over actual elapsed time. I'm suggesting that the watch runs faster with the 1.55v battery, which has a higher voltage than the original 1.35v mercury battery. If it were running slower, I might attribute that to some other kind of failure in the 60 year-old mechanism, but it is faster. Has this not been your experience? Thanks.

I have a Bulova Accutron Railroad Approved. I think it's a 1968 model. Anyway, how do you adjust the time?. Do you know?. It's gaining about a minute per day and I was wondering how to do that. I presume it has to do with those tiny "fingers". Thanks much

I was told that the 1.55 volt won't keep correct time. It has to be a 1.35 Volt. I have a 394 in the watch now, and it runs fast, and won't keep correct time. Was I told right ? This is a Original 1964 Spaceview. My Father bought it a year before I was born. My Uncle passed it to me this year after my Father passed a couple of years ago.

Remove the dial, get spaceview hands and a crystal, assemble and tick one off your bucket list.
