Jennifer Kesse: Orlando woman mysteriously vanished in 2006

More than a decade after Jennifer Kesse's disappearance, her family is still left searching for answers. The mystery shocked Central Florida and drew the attention of the entire country. Investigative reporter Shannon Butler has covered the case from the very beginning and reveals information not made public until now.

When I was 21, I was grabbed from behind as I was going to open my car door one evening in a dark parking lot as I was leaving work. The only thing that saved me from being forced inside was turning around to face him and standing my ground. He told me that he had a gun and I argued with him that he didn't. He finally became so frustrated with me that he ran off. Even though he was a stranger, his motive was to cause me harm.

Jennifer Kesse is the most frustrating case I've ever seen. It was clearly more than one person and the fact she was taken right after returning from her vacation is crazy. This was pre planned and its so frustrating no one has talked.

I had only been living in Orlando for a few years when this happened and watching this Channel 9 report after all these years still gives me the chills. I can't even imagine what this family is going through and I pray they find the answer.

Jennifer’s disappearance is heartbreaking. My heart goes out to her family. I went to college and lived in Orlando in the late 90’s/early 2000’s and lived in an apartment complex a block away. That area had some sketchy spots and the Orlando jail is right there too. I felt uncomfortable at times nearby my apartment complex.

The absolute unconditional love of 2 parents radiates through Mr. & Mrs. Kesse. You can literally feel their love, their passion, their drive, their heartache, their pain, & frustrations. It is incredible to see the strength the 2 of them have, to fight this together, still standing strong as a couple. We see time & time again, how the loss of a child can tear a family apart & eventually lead to divorce. The Kesse's have had so many obstacles in their way, at every turn. But they keep fighting. That is very empowering.

I grew up in a family that I was lucky to survive. It's like a foreign country to see parents like the Kesses who care SO MUCH about their daughter & who continue to sacrifice even a decade later in the hopes they might find just their daughter's bones. They're an extraordinary family, and despite the terrible circumstances I hope they have the peace of knowing their daughter knew what it means to be loved.

I hope so much that they're reunited with her & have an opportunity to give her the ceremony & resting place she deserves.
