I love Volvo but I need buttons- putting everything in the giant ipad, and no dash, is a safety issue. Volvos range is always disappointing too. I also wish they’d keep leather interiors.

I'm diggin the design. It would be nice to have at least a small dashboard in front of the driver

NYC, my "neck of the woods, " hope you had a good time hanging-out in the Big Apple! I like the Volvo EX30, no fake vent, everything about the design says this is "an electric car." Also, the charging time makes this a winner! Can't say I like the "paint splatter" design but all in all a fantastic car! Thanks Joe, you the man!

Joe, you are the consummate professional of car reviews. I rarely bother to watch anyone else's reviews anymore. You'll get to 2 million subs by xmas. (2024)

This EV looks awesome, the price point is getting better, I hope they keep price realistic because I can see this in a lot of garages. Personally, I can't wait for their Off-Road version

Really sharp car! That "Beyond Modern" interior is a total WINNER!
But the range...not so much.

I would replace the recycled, spotted plastic with wood and aluminium like in a tesla, or fake wood and fake aluminium.

What a beaut! Volvo knocked this out of the park.

Seems a bit small to be called an SUV, especially the height!

Those interior materials look kinda cheap, they had to cut corners somewhere and the interior was definitely it.

Hey Joe! Glad to see your already bringing us the 2025 models. Great things down the pipeline like the refreshed Sorento! Great job Joe and Lori !

As soon as i see that horizontal ipad with the minimalistic interior I lose interest. They have to stop doing this in every electric vehicle

Makes me laugh when people say the EV6 GT is beautiful. THIS is a beautiful car. And I even like Kia's...

I reserved one of these on day one of the offering, but I'm starting to have some reservations about going through with it...a couple of deal-killers for me, potentially. My main issue is that it has no HUD or roof shade. I called Volvo international to check on that, to see if there will be a HUD option that could be an add-on...nope. It seems a little odd to me that you'd have to divert your driving attention to a screen to your right...making you take your eyes off the road to see your speed, open and close the windows, etc. To me, that seems unsafe. There's plenty of room to add a small HUD just above the wheel and perhaps adding the window controls on the steering wheel. Also, no shade options on that roof window might be an issue for a lot of people. I don't always want light coming into the roof of the vehicle, you know? Perhaps they'll offer a solid, non-glass roof option on the production models, but the rep I spoke to said that it may not be offered. On a positive note, when I called my local Volvo dealer after reserving the vehicle, I asked them if they can/will upcharge the price of the vehicle like Hyundai and MANY other dealerships do. They expressly said that they are not allowed to do that, due to the stipulations and terms in the franchise agreement they have with Volvo. They have to offer the MSRP price, but CAN offer you additional services like extended warranties, naturally. They just can't jack up the price of the vehicle itself beyond the MSRP. That was great news and is why I'm still looking at this model despite the issues, instead of buying the Ioniq 5. The local Hyundai dealership jacked up the price of the I5 by 21% when I got the call to complete the deal and pick it up. That came totally out of left field and made me quite angry at the time. I had reserved it a year earlier and was quoted a MUCH lower delivery price. It's good to know that not every franchise license allows dealership to carte blanche gouge the consumers.

I don't even know where to start my comment, really, but after watching your video for some reason I felt that you were extremely biased & tried so hard (by your slightly toothless criticism) cover up huge design & equipment mistakes / bad choices of "Volvo" for this upcoming EX30. Were you somehow "bribed" or convinced to be so biased? I really hope not.
First of all you zonked some of rather obvious flaws in interior design but totally neglected to mention exterior & other interior ones. Volvo EX30 has inconceivable inconsistencies with exterior design like tasteless endings of black lines & abrupt continuation of white elements which are appalling & making no sense whatsoever (from the top of driver's door black glass framing till the very end of the passanger's door trim & black framing: all shapes, forms & white-black lines/connections are screwed up & look very ugly). Also, interior elements with "birdy-poops" paint-stains pattern making trims look ridiculously cheap & childish, taking you mind of "luxury" segment of this car with supposedly nice trims & noble looking materials.
Secondly, lack of all possible conveniences, like trays, storage spaces, cup holders, individual speakers for all scenarios of music listening, lack of entertainment gadgets for all passengers, seat tables for rear passagers (you didn't even mention) & lack of all kinds of manual controls inside this vehicle making EX30 look rather cheap & poorly equipped than progressive & ascetic. I hated door handles design as well.
Thirdly, their is nothing to help driver to have a great feeling about been in full control of EX30 (no digital screen or projection in front of him/her/etc.; you always have to consult with awfully positioned tablet that is not even swiveled/turned towards car's driver).
Trivia question: what will happen if you'll get a flat tire? Do you have to call guys in Sweden to complain about it or call nearest IKEA store for this matter?
In this video you seemed to be "Willy-Wonka" happy about everything & annoyingly kept joking about Twinkies as usual & of course you'll mention that different people's opinions, tastes & preferences sould not be negatively & fiercely argued but I still believe honesty & objectivity do exist & go first!

Don't forget this is the same size as a Hyundai Kona. Is a sub compact crossover.
