(a) How strong is the attractive force between a glass rod with a 0.700 μC charge and a silk cloth with a –0.600 μC charge, which are 12.0 cm apart, using the approximation that they act like point charges? (b) Discuss how the answer to this problem might be affected if the charges are distributed over some area and do not act like point charges.

Your videos are so helpful, I don’t know what I’d do without them! Your explanations are a life saver!👏 Thank you so much for all you do for us! I had a question, why would the 0.600x10^-6 not be negative? Does it cancel out which makes the F for the final answer be positive?

Not sure if I'm missing it, but did you answer part b? I'm not sure what is even being asked.

Just a quick question why is the answer positive and not negative?

Its asking for the radius of the distance between, so wouldn't you divide the 12cm in half to get r ?
