Welcome to the 2015 Brain IDEAS Symposium, Hosted by the Invisible Disabilities Association (IDA) in Denver, CO.

Meet Dr. Knipe: Jim Knipe , PhD, has been a licensed psychologist in private practice in Colorado, USA since 1976 and has been using EMDR since 1992. He is an EMDR-HAP Trainer, an EMDRIA Approved Consultant and Instructor, and was designated a “”Master Clinician”” by EMDRIA in 2007.

IDA's 2015 Brain IDEAS symposium focused on Brain Disorders, Brain Health, and Brain Therapy. Nine expert speakers delivered dynamic, science, and story-filled talks on relevant topics including Mental Illness, Autism, Alzheimer’s, Nutrition, Mental Training, Humor, Stroke, PTSD, and TBI. Expert-led panels for questions and answers were included in each section allowing attendees to interact with presenters. Our lunch program honored three experts in innovation, healthy living and research followed by Top-Ten Billboard recording artist Billy Mclaughlin.

The Invisible Disabilities Association (IDA) encourages, educates and connects people and organizations touched by illness, pain and disability around the globe.

At 68 yo. I still remember an abuse incident that happened that happened when I was about 12. It comes to my mind when I am stressed

In 2 to 12 sessions PTSD after earthquake in Turkey shows reduction of PTSD with or without SSRI medication; stable at follow up.

We know that cognitive behavioural therapy does not fit the therapy model for permanent release from the trauma. EMDR processing according to the research does produce permanent removal of the emotional trauma and associated personality issues.
