Man! This is good stuff!!! You are THE ONLY ONE that explains this in such detail! There are so many instructors that have a “Pull” introduction. Way to go!

This absolutely works - but takes time to learn. The video that started me thinking about the left arm though was the Mike Austin video you showed where he swings the club with a rope attached to the club instead of the left arm. That was an eye opener ! Thanks Steve

Hello Steve, I am going to try and incorporate this "feeling" into my motion this week. I just turned 70 and had not lost a great deal of distance until the last couple years. I started flipping to try to turn the ball over and get a little more roll but that created more problems. Your video on throwing the club to feel the proper release motion helped straighten out the snap hooks. I am hitting it straight again and gained back 20 yards. I can't wait to take a look at myself swinging as I am sure that this is my problem...my body is probably facing the ball rather than the target when I hit it. Your videos are giving me hope!!!

Steve, I remember a video from Mike Austin from a few years back where he said you could just listen to a swing and tell whether or not it was sound or not by listening to the click of the ball. Went outside and tried this into my net and I couldn't believe how crisp the sound is. The thing that really clicked for me is when you said the shirt outpaces the shoulders. I cannot believe how much easier it is to swing this way. Thank you again for your quick to the point, spot-on lessons.

I really like that left foot move! Square on backswing, to get to the top. And open on downswing for à great, full balanced finish!

Excellent instruction.
Thanks brother.

Great vid this method makes it so much easier to stay connected and not arms flailing all over the place.

Thanks again Steve. Thanks for your reply to a recent question re. using hands in the swing. This video complements that previous one very well. Passive is a great word to use for the lead arm. I can't wait to learn the feeling and see the benefits. I am up to 260 yards, aged 56 having returned to golf 2 years ago after a long break!

This bodycenter first is also important and everthing in one ( body goes and hand follow) . It is so easy to let let hand do first . Have to practice this. Thanks for very good video.

Really looking forward to trying this. As well as a swing diagnosis.

Very good. Have you noticed how you lift and replace your left foot in transition? Good way to get your pressure left.

Great vid. I can get this feel easily with my heavy wedges, but lose it on my irons unfortunately

another thought...I think getting older is in a way like becoming injured and trying to play. Because your range of motion is compromised and limited, you start to change your swing to avoid doing what you think you can't. I used to average 275 twenty years ago and about 15 years ago, started losing a few yards each year. I was hitting 240 to 250 a couple years back but after covid I didn't play for 4 months and when I finally returned was hitting it only about 215. But your videos are pulling me out of this funk. I appreciate the detail of your explanations...it helps so much in trying to apply the changes properly. Thanks a bunch.

The figure seven concept was the most impactful tip I've ever taken away from the Austin/Dunaway model. Total game changer, however in my opinion I think the whole passive vs active arms debate is purely subjective based on anatomy. People with a bigger chest might need to work those arms down more than a flat chested skinnier golfer would. Justin Rose has a tendancy to let the arms fly out so he keeps that in check by actively pulling the arms down. I think it's truly one of those few areas in golf where there is no one size fits all.

Been watching (and enjoying) your videos for a relatively short time now. I have a question that has come up in my mind several times from this and other of your lesson videos that I think is appropriate to ask here. Once you get this "feeling" and swing down what do you do if you ever really want to "go after one" as it were? I mean maybe a drive where the you want to put a little extra into it? The tendency for me (and I would suspect many golfers) when trying to put a little extra in, is that the arms take over and the result is and even shorter strike or worse where the ball flies off line because the arms dominate the swing.

What do you do when you want to put that little extra into a drive (or for that matter any shot really)?

This idea has really helped me to prevent hitting the ball fat

I am 85 years old playing golf since I was 20 lost my distance at 75. Been trying to get it back and I just love what you’re saying and it is flat working. I like the pizza move.

as someone that occasionally hits the giant block to the right... this move just makes me feel like its going to make that miss worse... Your thoughts on that idea Steve?

Nice. I'm definitely guilty of yanking down with the left arm. And I try to keep my hips from leading my arms because I feel like it makes my hands late so I am thinking this might be that little thing I am doing wrong that is keeping me from crushing it like I used to crush baseballs

Good information. I notice at minute mark 5:28 of the slow motion replay your left foot comes off the ground. Is this part of the distance formula? I've seen baseball players do this. Thanks for your response in advance.
