This video covers the steps required to run a Riser Deployment\Retrieval Simulation in Optima-Offline.

The purpose of the Riser Deployment\Retrieval simulator is to establish whether the riser can be safely deployed or retrieved in the prevailing or forecast metocean conditions, without risk of:

● The riser binding in the diverter housing, when the moonpool guidance system is not deployed.
● Exceeding the maximum allowable riser stress and moonpool guidance system contact reaction, when the moonpool guidance system is deployed.

The Riser Deployment simulator also checks for clashing with subsea infrastructure, as the riser nears full deployment, if this is necessary.
The Riser Deployment procedure can only be performed when the RMS is in Offline mode. To perform the riser deployment simulation, a safe zone must be defined in the database. For information about how to define safe zones and vessel home positions, refer to the online help. The safe zones define the offset from the wellhead of the vessel for the deployment procedure. Limits for the Riser Deployment simulator are also specified in the RIM and may be viewed by clicking on the Limits/Timings button.
