Terahertz whispering gallery modes in thin disc resonators

Whispering gallery mode resonators (WGMs) are a useful device in optics and spectroscopy. In the THz regime considerable improvement to the usefulness of these devices has been made by utilising the geometry of a disc, as opposed to a sphere or toroid.
