I loved Sam Darnold when he was a Carolina Panther and he still has the same jersey! He even has something of an older brother, even a twin, in Andy Dalton. Besides their height, and being QB, they both wore #14 in college and for NFL.

I wasn't thrilled with the Darnold signing but I will say this: for the first time in his career, Darnold will probably be the starting QB and not have the pressure of being The Guy, which gives me a bit of cautious optimism that perhaps Darnold can be okay. He doesnt have to be the 3rd overall pick the Jets thought they had. He just has to hold the fort until JJ is ready.

There's a fine line between wanting JJ to start as soon as possible and wanting Darnold to keep the starting job as long as possible. Need to trust the process now that the adults have cleaned up the mess that Spielman and Zimmer left behind.

Darnold didn’t look bad at all. He had one terrible throw but other than that had great pocket presence and was mobile enough to get out of the pocket when necessary. He should’ve been 6/8 with a TD if Chandler would’ve caught those balls but that’s why the Vikes brought in Aaron Jones. Excited to see the full offense together.

I’m a Bears fan but always wanted Sam Darnold to play well. He had all the talent but came out of college at 20 which may have not been the right move. I think he will excel with the Vikings. If he does the NFC Central will have the most stocked talented QBs.
