Mesolithic Timelords, Scotland ~ 10,000 Year Old Warren Field Calendar

Показать описание
A video on the little known 10,000 year old calendar, a row of slightly arcing pits found in a field in Aberdeenshire, Scotland, maybe the oldest calendar in the world. The Warren Field Site is a truly important archaeological site that shows people coming out of the ice age were tracking the heavens, especially the moon and the Lunar year. Does this have any related connection to the series of arcing pits recently discovered around Stonehege?

The beginning of time? World's oldest 'calendar' discovered

Great video, Chuck. It's becoming apparent that there weren't any cultures that didn't have cosmic time markers and star gazing. I propose that this happened independently across the planet, and different techniques were found to accomplish the task. Humans are remarkable in our adaptability and intelligence (at least some are)!

You just keep bringing these stories that prove "people are smarter than anybody" no matter the era. ;-) Now if people could just learn how to cohabitate peacefully on this planet would it not be a "wonderful world"? Thanks for sharing.

This was one way of tracking the heavenly bodies, someone has to predict when the next comet impact is going to be so they could take shelter and survive ? Mesolithic time lords is a great title .

Actually... You may want to explore the land area, or mass called Doggerland, an area that people could walk across, hunt and live on, OVER 10, 000 years ago.

I don't know but just 12K years ago people were exactly the same as today, certainly just as 'smart'. I don't think it is a great leap especially as these people were living outdoors and surviving off the land to be very aware of the moons phases, seasonal phases etc and be very good at understanding the world around them. I would be surprised if people didn't understand the sun and moons cycles. More difficult are the stars but I wonder why these archeologists think it is amazing people were keeping track of time or needed to do this order to plant crops..really?

Why does nobody ask WHY these ancient calendars were built?? If I was living 5-10 000 years ago this would not be on my todo list. It takes a lot of knowledge over time in way that feels impossible unless there is something deeper hidden about pur history.

Reminds me of the holes they found in Miami

I wonder with these pits (and there is some evidence from stonehenge) that they were filled with water, being an important portal to the otherworld to early european peoples. Water filled pits would reflect the light of the sky and it is easier to look down on the surface of a pool than up at the sky. Anyway just a thought, but there does seem to be the potential for water at many of these sites and an antler horn makes a far better rake for removing weeds from the surface than it does to cut a chalk ditch, hence the broken antlers found so often at the bottom of what would have been well tended sacred sites.
p.s. Thanks for the vids as always chuck.

I am anxiously waiting for LIDAR Eearth and GPR Eearth apps. History will have whole other level of academia!

Do you think there's more archaeology to be studied in and around the fields of the Blarney Stone in Ireland?
I think there's more to it than the fanciful story we've been told.

No possible direct connection, those scottish pits predate the durrington mega circle by at least 3000yrs and were likely completely different groups of people responsible.
