I’ll never forget a video I saw on YouTube about the Vampire dragster where Richard actually revisited the car. He said “It’s funny. I remember getting in this car but I don’t remember getting out of it, so technically I’m still in it.”
Even though he said it humorously, it felt like quite a harrowing thing to say about a machine he nearly died in.

You forgot Hammond falling of a bike twice in St Petersburg and him falling off he's horse in Burma.

I know it is The Grand Tour, but May´s crash of the Mitsubishi Evo was scary as well, since he landed on his side of the car. Terrifying to watch but glad these 3 are OK after all they´ve been through. Hopefully we will get some more from them in years to come.

I know that Clarkson and May agreed to not joke about Hammond’s crash, but after the Rimac incident, they started making numerous subtle jabs at it far more often.

Hammond did an interview with Jonathan Ross and said that the entire year after that dragster crash was lost to him memory wise. He has absolutely no memory of the North Pole trip and said that he came back far too early. He came back to Top Gear only a couple of months after the crash.

How Hammond is still alive and kicking is extraordinary. Had that crash happened ever so slightly as it did, he's dead.

He once listed all his illnesses on QI, including his two slipped discs, which led to Alan Davies and Stephen Fry to join in singing "and a partridge in a pear tree". 😂

Of course, after promising to never speak of the accident ever again, the next week they were mercilessly needling Hammond about always crashing and haven't stopped since.

Mays near miss on the burma special when Clarkson tips the crane had my heart in my mouth. May looked genuinely furious, composed himself and went oh my crane being too small is punishable by death is it 😂
