I studied at a university in Valencia. I wish I was there to help. I hope and pray for healing and recovering for my Spanish friends. I love you all with all my heart.

It was the regional government's responsibility to inform the citizens, organize an emergency and evacuation and rescue plan, and ask assistance from both other fire stations and the army, none of which was carried out but until people were already trapped. Furthermore, the present regional government has dismantled the regional Militar Emergency Unit created by the previous one. Also, they've cut down budget on safety and used it to finance a bullfighting school in Madrid. The probability of flood was announced on October 25th. I don't see why the ambassador intentionally omits mentioning it and only wants to focus on relieving the victims. The regional government were neglectful and helpless.

Terrible tragedy 😞😞😞 surely lots of effort needed for flood management, no houses to be built in flood plane. Develop housing outside of danger areas. So sad. 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏

Since 1321, 125 floods have been documented in Valencia alone.
The problem is that it rained a lot in the mountains (400 litres per square metre) and that water came down like a tsunami towards the villages on the plain. Villages where it had rained very little, and this surprised them... that's why there are so many dead.

Media people like this put too much demand on the government leading people to demand things that are not possible for governments to do.

We are very sad what we see, all their lives destroyed, left in saddness and sorrows😢

But is this not a warning for us all, in all of this big disaster did/do anyone cry out to the living God, out Creator for help? If not, why not He is still a loving God, because of you did not cry out, you abandoned Him, should He help!? He will because you still live.

It is time to repend and turn your face towards God before it is to late. You can be dead within an hour from now on, so choose today.

Can we finally adjust and adopt to climate change?
Climate is no longer moderate and I am tired to hear again and again that we didn't know this was coming.
It is very very easy to take the old plans and amplify the rain by ten, run a simulation and see what will happen.
Yes our infrastructure is ourdated by centuries and needs to be reassessed especially in nearrow valleys and by anything that will concentrate flows by a factor of 100 to a 1000.

My point is this was to be expected. This will happen anywhere and everywhere ... don't fide this is no longer being expected.
There are people getting paid to think, expect and prepare for these.

2024 marks The Turning Point. Insane major flash floods all over the world. The Sahara desert, Dubai, Saudi Arabia, Germany, France, Italy, Slovakia, Florida, North Carolina ....

And, of course, it is only going to get much worse from now on.

We are past trying to mitigate climate change to now trying to mitigate the effects of climate change. Of course, our leaders who are, en masse in pretty much every nation, dullards completely not up to the task, are incapable of doing anything to stop or even slow down what is happening.

Valencia was a beautiful city. Wars couldn't destroy it. Floods will - this was nature's first salvo but nowhere near it's last. We see in Florida that residents are giving up and moving out due to the repeated flooding. That will be the new normal throughout the world. The question is "where to go?". Even Appalachia was not spared - and that was considered as safe as you can get, until it wasn't.

Germany, Ahrtal, couple of years ago.
Peak incompetence.
Even now, to this day, total ignorance.
Like, back to buisness as usual, which of course is idiocracy in general.

My heart goes out to the Spanish people that are suffering! More infrastructure is necessary for modern weather patterns! Glacier retreat signifies that temperatures are still increasing from Ice Age lows! It's a normal and predictable situation! Human development over the last 10, 000 years has placed people near rivers and lakes that are always flexing, dependant upon many variables! One obvious variation is precipitation! Don't blame the Industrial Revolution for natural occuring events! That is delusional! And won't help cure anything! Look ahead and invest accordingly!
