So are all three nodes/relays determined in advance before the request is sent out from the client? Or are they only selected one at a time after passing through a prior one. Like it chooses an entry guard then the entry guard chooses a middle relay than the middle relay chooses the exit node

And what if i'm the exit node of someone doing illegal things?

I heard that Tor is not really providing that autonomous browsing. Because service providers still somehow know your browsing activities. Not totally sure about this
