Synopsis:
In a post-apocalyptic future, humanity is under constant threat from giant creatures known as klaxosaurs (叫竜 kyoryū), which are sub-divided into at least four categories based on their size: "Conrad", "Mohorovičić", "Gutenberg" and "(Super) Lehmann". Pushed to the brink of annihilation, the mysterious organization known as APE has led the remnants of humanity to abandon the Earth's surface for the relative safety of mobile fortress-cities known as Plantations. To defend the Plantations, children called Parasites are raised to pilot giant mecha known as Franxx (フランキス Furankisu) in boy-girl pairs. Hiro is a former pilot-candidate prodigy who can no longer synchronize with his partner and they both fail to complete the training program. While skipping his class's graduation ceremony, Hiro encounters Zero Two, an infamous Franxx pilot with klaxosaur blood and red horns. After Zero Two's partner dies during a klaxosaur attack, Hiro volunteers to become her new partner, or "darling".

Here a few years later...it's incredible how much time has passed since this anime came out, and yet the emotional pain of the ending and the soundtracks still carry such an immense weight. There's so many feelings and morals to take away from the show...and the OST's by themselves convey the stories in their own way that is truly incredible. Even those who have never seen the show can probably hear the story of pain, sorrow, love and pure happiness in each bittersweet note....thank you for this, four years later. Thank you...

As Kokoro said...I've left my mark on the world with this emotional blurb. I wonder who else will visit this and have these same thoughts four years later. Perhaps no one will, but at least I've left my mark here.

I have watched over 50 different anime. And only "darling in the franxx" made me cry. As time goes by, I return to this incredibly beautiful story again and again. I wish I could feel all these emotions again, like for the first time. I don't hope that there will ever be a second season, because the story is over. But I would be incredibly happy with a reboot or a remake🥲

This breaks my heart... I remember the scene when Hiro didn't want to show the drawing he made for her. Then I saw the prince and I immediately cried, so sweet 🥲

I never imagined that starting from a video with a quite brutal music called zero two dance I would find a anime that struck me emotionally as hard as Clannad. Darling in the FranXX is a masterpiece.

This anime will always be my favorite and should be remembered although a lot of people wish for a season 2 there won't be the story's ended but it still gets me emotional everytime I watch it
