For centuries people have tried to describe fishing with pen and paper. But some smart, fun and most creative people like you, have turned it into reality and made it really interesting.
Thanks for sharing this nice fishing.

I caught my first fish with this a few days back. This will always have a place in my heart

Sounds to me like the heavy pound test line is making the noise. Might want to oil the roller that the line glides across. Would probably sound better with braid.. js. Love the vids brother

*Comes with everything you **enjoyable.fishing** need to get started fishing. I love how compact it is and yet very sturdy when fully extended. Haven't got anything with it yet, but that ain't the poles fault lol!*

Hey Mark good to see you this evening. I got skunked today... Fishing Marco Island Bridge, salt. That's some easy to see line on that reel. Looks like you made the right decision on locations. You got some nice fish on today... Gonna sit back and watch. Thanks mark, appreciate the entertainment.

I have 2 of these combos and they have really done well for me. I don't know how long they'll hold up catching something several times that will scream drag but they have done well for me so far. I also have different rods for the many different areas and places I fish. I try to match my gear to the most likely size of the catch for that area. Great little combo for the money.

Take at ol heavy line off, and put say, 20 or 30 at most pound test on and that thing would cast good. Might be short but would cast a whole lot better then it did. 50 pound mono is STOUT line I mean stout. Really don't need it. If your fighting big fish as most serious fishermen of the whisker kitties know, and you think you need that high a breaking strength for fish, way better off to go with braid to a swivel with mono of fluro leader. I've landed giant fish biggest was 70 pounds on 20 pound braid to 12 pound mono leader. It was a long fight, but not that long. All in how you set that drag folks. I use basd tackle to catch up to 15 pound channel cats. And ive caught them on a drop shot rod, medium action, 10 pound braid with 8 pound fluro leader, and 2500 size lews mach reel. With drop shot hooks none the less n didn't bend hook out. I've caught 5 and 6 pound channel cats on trout fishing gear with 4 pound mono trout fishing to though. So I think it mainly comes down to anglers patience, line type, the length of rod, and knots used, and how careful you are about retying. With braid on rocks. Or fluro on anything abrasive or getting hung in limb and pulling it free. What have you, you should retie. Fluro gets a kink in it, wraps around a limb and you pull it loose, or go get it loose, best bet is to retie. Braid is some strong stuff until you get into rocks. You know what I mean if you've fished much. Mono in my honest opinion and that's a fact, for any fish that isn't typically line shy is your best all around line. Its got stretch which is actually good thing in most cases. Plenty abrasion resistant. Awesome knot strength with most any knot. And its very very forgiving. In other words if you're new angler using just a basic fishermen's knot, with little too short a rod, and drag set too tight, and if your fishing heavy cover for cats, mono is way to go. But at same time, just because your catching 70 and 80 pound cats regularly don't at all mean you need to go with that heavy a pound test mono. Or braid as far as that goes, but you would really be surprised what you can do with 30 pound Berkley big game Mono, the right length rod, and a good SMOOTH drag reel. Spinning rods have way smoother drags for the most part especially on lower ends of price points. You want to use as light a line as you possibly can. For few reasons. First and foremost you get more bites overall, 2nd you can have a whole lot more line on a spool which helps when you get a big fish, so they don't run your whole spool of line off, and 3rd its just sporty. I'd much rather catch a 30 pound flathead on 15 pound line, then a 30 pound flathead on 30 40 50 pound line lol. Just me though. Idk. About the only time I dont mess around with it is when I'm in a bass fishing tournament. And I'm not looking for sport of it then just wanting to get em in boat . But I'm still using appropriate size rods and reels for my fish, and using the absolute smallest line I can. Tight lines folks. And God bless

Bought this combo a little while back for about $30 and ended up putting new line on it because it was twisting horribly. Love the rod so far and the reel is working fine for now.

What time is best to throw cast net from Lakeshore Drive seawall in N.O.?
I enjoy all of your videos, especially the ones in La but I've also enjoyed the ones in Miss., Tx., and when you were up North somewhere for a short time.
Also, thanks for putting us onto that restaurant in City Park at the Children's Museum.
Please keep up the good work, you're a good ambassador for New Orleans.
Thank you !!!

I bought this combo. The first one, the rod snapped on a 3 ounce yellow bass. I took it back and got it exchanged for another one and it is doing just fine. The reel on mine also makes a really funny noise too. My friend who bought the same combo as well, his reel does not make that noise.
