I didn't notice this until now but...he really didn't. Khan was 100% honest and upfront about what he was and what he did. Khan was more trustworthy than the head of starfleet.

What’s crazy is Admiral Marcus was right about Khan and that he was playing Kirk the entire time. If Marcus wasn’t trying to start a war he would actually be the good guy in this movie.

Even if Captain Kirk would've obeyed Admiral Marcus and killed Khan (instead of capturing him), he still would've killed Kirk (and his crew) anyway (that's why he tampered with The Warp Core)!
