This is a comparison of all of the LEGO Ninjago Golden Weapons that have been released over the years: The Scythe of Quakes, Nunchucks of Lightning, Shurikens of Ice, and Sword of Fire. Each of these have had multiple iterations over the years, so this video aims to look at which version is best for each one.

Seeing as the Nunchucks of Lightning were reanimated for March of the Oni so that the dragons on the hilts were facing down, I'd say the Legacy version is rather accurate.

Great list, I agree with your preferences. Always thought it was weird how in the original sets the only accurate golden weapon was the sword but nothing else had the same detail.

They didn’t use a regular golden sword for the sword of fire, they had an actual mould for it back then when ninjago first came out

I would improve the new Scythe of Quakes by cutting of the bottom of the handle and then putting a legacy dragon hilt on the end.
Similar to what some people are doing with a black sword to make the darksaber.

Kai’s legacy version of the fire sword was also with the original forms of the other golden weapons, I remember they all came together in that one big ass Lego set with the temple of fire, garmadon, and samurai, from the original series. I remember having it as a kid

honestly I'm a little surprised that only the Sword and Shurikens got the "unique part" treatment.
Most of the new Crystallised designs are definitely compromised to work with the crystal swords, rather than being their own thing, so I can understand them existing for that. Barely a replacement for the Legacy stuff, though.

I just wish with the scythe that the _entire_ handle would be a bar piece. It can still work with the crystal blade, but would also just look better on its own

I wonder if the reason the 2022 versions look different/weird is because they're meant to look like theirs crystals around them, and its just not dual molded so they loom like they could work normaly

Also I'm surprised you didn't show the 2021 Legacy versions from the epic battle sets (the transparent ones), I feel like those also count.

I think the Legacy ones captured the OGs and the Oni Versions perfectly.
There's also that Scythe from NRG Cole that Looked more accurate for the OG Scythe in the show.
The Crystalized Scythe really should have not had that weird blade look for the handle (even if it fits the crystal Hilts perfectly).

After Looking at each weapon again, yeah I think opinions may still be the same where, New Sword of Fire is Not good without the Crystalized part, Nunchucks seem weird but I think there is a way to Make it look a lil better (by putting the chain on the bottom of the handle, but ensuring there's enough room for Hands), The Shurikens are Perfect No matter what TBH, if anything the New mold seems more Weapon specific than the Normal Ones (which are of course used for their purpose and Detailing on a build) and I already spoken about the scythe.

I like the 2011 sword, the 2019 nunchucks, and the 2022 scythe and shurikens. The new ones all look good on the crystal piece though

Thank you for pointing out what Lego seems to miss: scythes are a two-handed weapon! Give me a show-accurate blade with a two-handed staff 😓 For the shuriken…they’re so tiny that there’s only so much you can do with them. The sword of fire…poor Kai… There better be a story-related reason for the change 🤨

To fix the new Scythe of quakes, I would just add either a golden light saber handle to the bottom, or the golden “T” connector.
both I think would work better than the dragon hilt.

And with the exception to the scythe, I think the legacy versions are the best.

3:34 they made the nunchucks of lightning in the legacy wave upside down because that's how they were like in season 10 so it's definitely show accurate

I do recall a "staff of quakes" being released early on in season 1, I think it was with a spinner or a very small set. It was basically just a golden version of Sensei Wu's staff.
Edit: there was also a "sword of fire" in one of those multi-model building books, which was just a golden katana mold.
