Painting a God of War Leviathan Axe!

We visit the workshop of Aurum Effects, where propmaker Eric Newgard guides us through his process of painting and finishing a God of War Leviathan Axe resin kit. Eric shares his techniques for painting urethane resin to look like old wood, shiny metal, and other materials. The finished prop is beautiful!

Ok, I'm not ashamed to say it. I'm totally impressed at how good the finished axe looks. I guess cosplay/collectibles are hitting a whole new level now. (Says the old guy here)

That is amazing!

Though, I'd say that one last final touch would have been to add that lightening wear that happens to the edges of wood. I'd say specifically where the butt of the ax handle would meet the floor.

Superb! I love his attention to detail and how mindful he is about realistic wear/tear. Even applied suttle brush strokes on the flats of the metal for a believable overall texture.

Masterclass! Thank you so much for getting Aurum FX on, they're legends. Next to impossible to get Alumaluster imported into Australia easily. Do you recommend doing a clear coat before the Alclad? I might have been doing it wrong for years.
