Stormen's 'no slide' wall bounce Explained

Many people do a long slide into a wall bounce, but it is actually possible to do a "No slide" wall bounce. The way you do this is by doing a slide jump so fast, that it actually looks like you don't slide. To do this, press your slide/crouch input while running and then press jump really quickly after.

Somebody who abuses the hell out of this is stormen. The clip shows him wall bouncing everywhere without even needing to slide. He uses this technique to wall bounce really smoothly. All it takes is a bit of practice and you should be able to wall bounce just like him!

If you didn't understand from my explanation, my friend jonei explains it very well in his video :)

That clip though, how he goes zooming around the corner is insane, love Stormen’s movement.

its really hard to get used to having to remember the inputs and not just climb the wall

as long as you're sprinting, no matter for how long, you can tap crouch and jump and it will be "wall bounceable"... just tested it and wow .-.
works great with auto-sprint

Honestly I've been doing the no slide wallbouce this whole time because on controller it's just easier cause less inputs. Didn't realize there was an actual difference

been doing this for awhile... you can also wall bounce after landing from a fall when you have fall fatigue

I don't know why but I love this video. You are explaining an easy trick in easy words and not taking much time unlike some other people on YouTube. Man I love it

Actually, you have to shift your momentum in the direction you intend to jump off of the wall. And it has to be done right before you hit the wall. You do not need to slide, just snap in the direction right before you hit the wall.Theres also another movement tech you can do if you push the crouch button as soon as you hit the wall that will make you launch downward quickly that gives you extra slide distance.

Any advice for wall jumping while walking? Like when you are in a close quarter 1v1 but don't have enough Time or space to slide jump. In these scenarios I feel like they are really inconsistent and I try jump off the wall but either get stuck or just headbutt the wall

essentially, after testing movement and trying to find new mechanics, I realised there exist "invisible momentum". Apparently, your physical momentum slows as you keep holding the slide, obvious right? But, the initial speed boost from sliding is carried out through the duration of the slide invisibly. Meaning, that even if your running unit is 1, as long as you hit that wall bounce, you'll carry out the initial momentum of a speed slide.

I have many more things i've discovered, movement, has limitless potential.

does this technique allow you to keep your climb? I notice when I try to wall bounce I don't keep my climb

The more late you latch the more jump you get.If you do it early, the bounce is pretty small. In situations both the technique usages depends. If you are getting chased and the enemy is shooting, Then the no slide wall bounce is good to manuever and buy yourself some more chances. If you need speed while getting shot and chased(And you are also pretty far from a safe spot), Then the slide wall bounce is a good technique to gain some good speed and some time after the wall bounce, You will keep the speed for a few milliseconds(I think, may be just perspective). But in a nutshell, The no slide is good for maneuvering and height and the slide wallbounce is good for speed.(Also please don't take everything for granted, This is my experience with this tech)

I actually learned about this forever ago when exhausted wall bounces were popping cause it gives you a very similar vertical jump
