Thank you so much for sharing your videos! I am a huge fan! I am getting ready to send in my application to nursing school this week! It is something I have wanted to do for so long, really since high school (i'm 36 now). I have been on dialysis for almost 19 years and I think (I hope) I can offer something to my patients and to the nursing community having been a patient myself for so long. I am thinking of starting my own channel to document my journey through school! YOUR AN INSPIRATION

Awesome video dude. I've been watching your videos ever since I've started school to become a CNA. I am now done with school & working out in the medical field as a man CNA. I'm surrounded by hot nurses all day..lol. You know what I mean.. Lol. I love it! I plan on becoming an LPN. Thanks for all your great videos & awesome tips.

As far as communication goes, Toastmasters is an amazing resource that is practically free and available all over the US.

hey, the NCLEX is a nationwide exam. If you wanted to, you could take your program in PA and have your NLCEX results sent to CA. Everyone I've talked to has had problems finding a job in NJ/PA/Philly area.

I'm a male RN and work on a tele floor. I am the only male on the floor... period. All female RNs, female CNAs, female monitor techs, unit coordinaters, etc. THE ONLY GUY... and I love it. I respect my coworkers, and all my coworkers respect me. It is all. good.

When we started my program, there was 60 people...probably10 guys. By the time we graduated, there were 5 of us left. I had some difficulty in my OB rotation because it was awkward asking about discharges and one day my professor said, "No. You're not a man, you're a nurse, " That really helped me with my patients. As for class, I was loud and outgoing and everyone knew me so I used it to my advantage and all my professors knew me by name.

Totaly aggree. I started my RN a year ago, and i am an ex loger welder of 35 yo
The problem is not the students, they are super kind and everything, problem comes from higher. Teachers and directors (all women) have hard time dealing with different people, so at my first class, the director  told me: you are not welcom here, you should leave now. So to survive, you have to take all the shots, take all the accusations and say take you. You have to disapear in class, never ask questions. Accept the fact that teachers wont help you
It sucks to feel unwanted in a class that you choose to help people, but you have to go trought, as it said: take the punches and say tank you

Hey man, you got it straight up!
You know they have nursing anesthetist in the states but not over here in Canada?

What do you want a your specialty brother?
My progam has many 10-15 guys and 200+ ladies.

So yeah, you have to suck it up! Some of them are pretty chill.

34 of us in my new nursing class and 9 are guys! There are one or two shy ones, but for the most part they don't have trouble talking to us. Two of them just started sitting with me after lab to study...not sure why they picked this old lady. lol So far we all get along great, it's a good class.

Right now i'm in a class with 53 students, 10 of us being males. For the most part I talk with all of the woman in my class. Know mostly all of there names, have studied with them and helped them in some way school wise. Just show them that you're sociable and easy going :)

Make friends where ever u can. You have a need so fulfill it. Once that need is filled the female nursing students won't make you feel out of place. Don't worry if u have some friends out of the nursing circle. There r no rules that say u can only have nursing friends!!!

i couldn't deal with the pool of estrogen in a nursing class, that's why i became a psych male dominated.
