Big blow for Opp in Bihar, Chirag Paswan drops hint of LJP-BJP alliance before 2024 LS Election

Amid rumours of joining the BJP-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA), Speaking to ANI, Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas faction) chief Chirag Paswan dropped a hint on alliance with NDA. Paswan said that LJP has opted to make a decision regarding the partnership when elections are near. However, the final decision on the topic would be made after a few more meetings. Earlier in the day, Paswan met MoS for Home Affairs Nityanand Rai which indicates the possibility of LJP’s return to NDA. Thereafter, Chirag Paswan holds a meeting with his party bearers at his residence in Patna. Notably, Paswan returning to NDA can be a big benefit for the Centre government and a big blow for the Opposition in Bihar politics. Paswan as the national President of LJP, had walked out of the NDA in the 2020 assembly elections. In the Bihar assembly elections 2020, the LJP managed only 5.66 per cent vote share winning a single seat.
