Sonship is the essential revelation for the believer.

The term “Sonship” is the scriptural word which refers to the Believer’s relational and spiritual position of adoption in the household of God and to God Himself. This term can refer to both male or female (as does Bride) who are found hidden in Jesus, the preeminent Son of God at the moment of a believer’s confession in Jesus as Lord and his belief in the bodily resurrection (ie. Salvation).

Sonship is the immediate and eternal gift of the Father as a direct result of His sovereign will and His extraordinary love! The instant result of this gift is a relationship with God as Lord, a revelation of God as Father and Jesus as older brother, not to mention infinite blessings beginning with unfettered access to God; Father, Son and Holy Spirit.

Sonship is the foundation and fountain of the believer’s life in God. Practically this means that God is the believer’s infinite source, identity and eternal inheritance

Sonship is the heart of the gospel message, the religion of Jesus, whereas Christianity is mostly a religion about Jesus death and resurrection.

While many believe they get the “whole package” when they first believed “the gospel” and equate that to believing in just the “facts” of 1 Corinthians 15:3-4 (compare James 2:19), some would argue this results in “easy believism” and does not acknowledge “repentance from sin”, “living a holy life”, nor becoming a disciple to follow Jesus Christ as Lord, to follow “the Way”. Luke 6:46-49. Romans 10:9-10, 13. John 14:23. Revelation 3:19-20. Luke 11:9-13. Acts 5:32. Acts 1:8; 2:1-4. The born again disciple will show the fruit of holiness, resulting in the expected end: eternal life (Romans 6:22). John 17:3. To know God and His Christ is eternal life. Relationship with Christ is required to continue in Christ, or else be cut off like a withered branch and gathered for fire (John 15:1-11). Disciples, and maturing sons, will be obedient to Christ’s words, and be corrected and disciplined by Him (Hebrews 12), or else are as “bastards”.

6:33 John 14:23–24 (NKJV): 23 Jesus answered and said to him, “If anyone loves Me, he will keep My word; and My Father will love him, and We will come to him and make Our home with him. 24 He who does not love Me does not keep My words; and the word which you hear is not Mine but the Father’s who sent Me. The Father and the Son, by the Holy Spirit must come live inside of the born again disciple. Being born again is not the same as being filled or baptized in the Spirit. The cleansing, renewal, and regeneration by the Spirit is one thing. The immersion and infilling is another work of the Spirit. Now, without the Spirit of Christ, of the Lord, they are none of His. The “word” of which Christ speaks in John 14:23 is the words of Christ himself that He spoke to call His disciples to Himself. Those who obeyed His call were those who had surrendered all their rights in order to follow Him. By this, Jesus knew which ones that the Father had given Him because they believed the words He had spoken to them by the Father, and that they responded and followed Him (John 17:6-8). They truly made Him their Lord, not just by a confession. Luke 6:46-49. Romans 10:9-10.

5:03 “At time of salvation”?? The Greek words would indicate otherwise, as would the practice of the Greco-Roman “adoption”. Being regenerated, born by the Spirit into the family of God as a babe, Brephos, Greek G1025 is not the same as maturing to a son (“huios”) and then being adopted. Jesus Christ was the “only begotten son” (son=Huios), fully mature son. The rest of us are born again as babes in Christ and must grow into maturity. The scriptures only tell us “huios” (sons) are the one’s “led by the Spirit” and are the one’s who “Cry, Abba, Father” by the Spirit.

1:35 The “sons” is “Huios” in the Greek, G5207, and represents fully mature adult sons, who are then eligible to be “adopted”. In John 1:12, we have the right to become “children” (of God) which is the Greek word “Teknon”. Both Romans 8:14 “to be led” and Galatians 4:6 “Cry, Abba” use the word “Sons”, or “Huios”. A babe, a young child, a teenager, are all offspring, and heirs, and yet “adoption” had a specific meaning to the Greco/Roman people, not as in Western societies. When a child has grown into an adult, and when the Father decides, he “adopts” his own “son”, meaning he elevates him to a position of authority and power within the family and family business. You don’t hand the keys to the car to a child, or give them vast resources (monies, properties, servants, etc) to use as they will, until they have matured.

I am struggling at the moment to get with the sonship theology. It sounds like an excuse to coheres “sons” to honour “fathers” with money 💰. Please help me perhaps the spirit of Judas has entered me.

So you cant be a trinitarian if you believe in the spirit of Jesus, right? Where does that fit into the strict definition of the trinity doctrine?
