I truly believe that happiness is a choice. Despite the many bad and frustrating things around us and the tough memories we may have, we can still choose to be happy. As you mentioned, there are numerous things we can do to boost our mood. Personally, I love reading a book or spending time with my family and friends when I'm feeling down or dealing with issues. You can do a lot if you really look for happiness.
