How to Deal With Ignite as a Toplaner - Example Darius vs Riven Matchup

Here is a video on how to deal with ignite. I used the Darius vs Riven matchup as an example. This is more of a small video to keep you guys entertained while I work on the bigger video on the matchups vs Riven, Fiora, Irelia, Camille and etc. I just needed more time than I thought so I whipped this one up.

That truly applies to top lane! I am Aatrox otp, i actually do poke and short trades avoiding all ins at all costs and when i can kill him in one combo i go all in! most of the times ignite users will push and try to dominate the lane early but doing some good trades and even maybe tp back to lane can really win you the lane

A low Elo tip I learned: Something that helps is actually to remember to use your pots in early lvl fights. Use them at the start of the fight, if you know you can all in them. Ignite is most powerful aginst Darius when he is low. This usally only works if your enemy pretty much plays it bad tho, by not using his pot XD. But its suprising how often it works in lower elo.

some useful advices for playing against ignite:
- try to get lvl2 first (e.g. you still beat ignite riven lvl1 with w+dorans blade+boneplating) this will let you push in 3-4 waves (depends how you push), this will let you go b and buy items then go back to lane with a item lead, esp. ruby cyrtal is very nice vs ignite becasue health counters true damage from ignite, so dont leash your jungler in this matchups and try your best to get lvl2 first without getting killed obvl.
- ignite for darius means "league of slowpush time", dont contest their push with ignite, respect them, farm the minions under tower then slowpush back to them so the wave can protect you vs an allin (like rhokus showed in his video).
- change itemisation if needed, dont build dmg items first, buy health and resistances, to survive lane, ghost is waay stronger in the mid and late game then ignite, also ppl who take ignite are often impatient, they are used to getting leads with ignite and when they realise you play it smart they often do bad mistakes which you can punish esp. with darius.
- anathemas chains is a great rush item if you have problems in lane, it provides alot of health to stay alive and some cdr, also the perma exhaust (i mean 30% less dmg is huge) helps you out big times even if you behind. dont build it into true dmg champs tho.
