Drive to Goulan Ancient Village - Chinese rural roads

Goulan Yao Village is located in Lanxi Yao Township, Jiangyong County, Yongzhou City, Hunan Province. It is the settlement of Goulan Yao ethnic group, one of the "Four Major Yao People" in Jiangyong County. It is a castle-style Yao Village, about 35 kilometers away from Jiangyong County. Covering an area of 6 square kilometers, it was built in the Ming Dynasty.
Goulan Yao Village retains more than 300 residential buildings from the Ming and Qing Dynasties, including small landscapes such as social altars, dance pavilions and song platforms, pavilions and bridges; there are large buildings such as Panwang Temple, Xianggong Temple, Shuilong Temple, and Guan Gong Temple; Goulan Yao Village also has a unique folk custom of "Mud Washing Festival".
On October 7, 2019, Goulan Yao Village was announced by the State Council of the People's Republic of China as the eighth batch of national key cultural relics protection units.
When entering the village, there was a spacious asphalt in the other direction, but I chose an unusual path to save time. In the narrow alley, the car I drove (1.9 meters wide) needed to fold the rearview mirror to barely pass. !

Wow... an original stone road. You can't find those nowadays. What a beautiful drive, beautiful scenery, a lovely surprise of a small lake, and those chickens... lol!!! Chickens are unique creatures, they lay eggs for eating, can be food when needed, and love to act like they are dumb sometimes. Running in front of your car, just to slow you down a bit more. So happy that you found this hidden gem, and hidden roads that most people wouldn't even bother to explore. You are brave, careful and I'm glad I could cram myself into your camera to see all these beautiful scenes that you just don't get to see from a highway or expressway. Thank you!!

Those farming communities are inspiring while looking at the environment. The conical-looking mountains there remind me of some American and Chinese movies I have watched in the past. I can attest to a documentary on the Chinese fishing tradition of using birds to capture fish in the water in an environment that looks beautifully just as the one in this video.

5:25 - 5:33 = Belle route avec un paysage travaillé (petite murette, plante, arbre, buisson, fleur) et une maison traditionnelle très jolie !
6:05 - 6:22 = Pont à la chinoise assez joli
28:07 - 28:44 / 29:00 -29:15 / 39:45 - 42:45 = Vieille maison traditionelle avec des bases solides (Fort potentiel - à rénover, à améliorer l'esthétisme dans certains cas et revoir l'urbanisme )
28:45 - 28:53 = Une maison traditionnelle qui semble jolie

Pour le reste, les maisons sont souvent moches. Heureusement que le paysage est magnifique et les rares maisons traditionnelles rattrapent un peu le coup.
