This is exactly why l love the analysis by Oseni on any issues. I was stunned when l heard some Nigerian journalists talking about the way Tinubu was welcomed in France. What has that got to do with the partnership between Nigeria and France? Francophone countries are moving away from France. Because France has exploited the Francophone countries for decades. This is the same France, Nigeria is now embracing. Nigerians can't be that inept and massively ignorant.

Indeed, MOUs are just a starting point. The tangible FDIs should necessarily follow.

However, Mr. Kenny Okolugbo does not really have an idea of how FDIs work. He probably knows more about the workings of government strategy and communications.

In this type of high-level head of state visit, the Nigerian delegation should have gone to France with fully prepared bankable projects - ready for investment. The Nigerian delegation did not set high expectations in terms of the tangible outcomes from the visit. At least, two huge multi-billion €uro FDI deals should have been signed during this visit.

We should all agree that there is a need to be more strategic so that Nigeria 🇳🇬 will garner maximum benefits from such visits in the future.

We here in the Western world and America knows that to attract any foreign investments in Africa or in Nigeria particularly, the investors need security from being kidnapped for ransom. They need good roads and fuel to truck their heavy equipment. They need electricity to fire they production plants. They need hospitals and emergency ambulances to take care of their workers. They need housing for their employees. They need a fair and not a corrupt judiciary system to administer on business deals. When Nigeria have these enabling essential factors for business, then it becomes profitable for any investor to consider doing business, not at a detriment to their lives and security. These Nigerian politicians do not understand how businesses in Europe and America or any civilized Country with rule of law operates.
