MADAME WEB Trailer REACTION - Why a Spider-Man Spinoff?

It's...kinda weird they made a Madame Web movie, right? Like Venom, Morbius, even Kraven...that we can see. but Sony is so determined to carve out their own version of the spider-man centric MCU that they really just did spinoff of D-tier spider-characters, instead of just giving Spider-Woman a solo film.

I like this unscripted format for a show, not to say I don’t like how the episode is regularly, this just feels more authentic and fun

Madame Web should've been a tv show that eventually became a character that appeared in the spider-man movies to guide Peter for all the multiverse stuff that's currently happening. Seems like they are just making her backstory start here with these other girls that she sees as a vision as spider woman characters that she'll eventually meet Miles Morales style. This is just the Across The Spider-Verse story with all spider-women. Wouldn't be surprised if we get a Gwen, and Cindy Moon cameo.

As Matt stated: Madame Web was always a mystical figure. But by making a so called "origin" movie of that character really eliminates any mythos of said character and makes it .... honestly less interesting.... Yes, we do have 7 Sony Spider-man movies WITH spider-man, and 3 from marvel. But god, there are SO MANY more stories to explore ... WHY Madame Web was my first thought when i saw the thumbnail to that trailer.

I really think Sony and their ridiculous decisions play the biggest part in the earlier waves of superhero fatigue. Which is obviously a lot more prevalent now with the crap Warner Bros put out and the TV shows Marvel have been putting out

I thought Madam Web was going to be a TV show. I went into this trailer with floor level expectations. Half way through the trailer I honestly felt like this may be an interesting show to check out and then I saw……”movie”. 😂😂😂 I’ll wait until this release on streaming

I like that this character is more obscure. Expectations are lower and most people will be introduced to something they've never seen before.
