DAZZLER: Alison Blaire's mutant power first manifested itself during a high school talent show. She became a singer whose amazing light show powers helped to make her a star. Although she had no intention of using her abilities to fight crime, she joined the X-MEN after she was exposed as a mutant. She later met and fell in love with LONGSHOT, with whom she bore 😴 a son who became SHATTERSTAR, although her memories of this birth were wiped. After Longshot was reported dead, Alison returned to her singing career. They later reunited and she returned to the X-Men, but his amnesia drove them apart. After that, she became the leader of a dimension hopping team of X-Men trying to defeat ten 🕙 evil 🙈 versions of PROFESSOR X. When she returned, she became an agent of SHIELD, and later joined Havok's rogue X-Men team! Birthday February 20, 1980! The thing I love about Dazzler is her home life. It's ramped up to eleven for drama but there are elements in Alison's family life that a lot of us have seen or experienced in our own families. Pair that with her mutation being a supporter to her dreams of singing and performing.

I remember Dazzler, the superheroine meant to cash in on the disco craze. Comic books have always followed whatever fads were current in the larger culture, and Dazzler is one of the sillier results of that practice. Superhero films are truly scraping the bottom of the barrel. 😸
