What's the best speaker for the Quad Cortex, ToneX, Axe Fx, Kemper or Helix? FRFR or Studio monitors? I personally think that studio monitors are best.

I know Glenn won't shut up about how good the Kali's are- the fact that two of my three fave gear related youtubers have given it the thumbs up, I feel like I can get behind the product.

Yeah you are right. I run the LP6s v1 for years now. Those are great in a small room. Especially because the bass reflex pipe is in the front. So even if you put these against a wall you will not suffer the same reflections as much as other back plane pipe speakers. Also the dip switches are awesome for the positioning.

I've had these LP8 v2 speakers for 6 months so far and they're amazing! These speakers are keepers. Glad to see you liking these.

Best video I have seen explaining the difference between studio monitors vs. FRFRs with great rationale and examples! Thank you!

Great video with excellent points. I made the switch last year from my single Friedman ASM-12 to a pair of Kali LP6 V2's, as well. Nice to have my stereo effects intact, and my family no longer complaining about the volume. They don't break the bank, either.

I have a pair of Kali Audio LP6s that I really enjoy. Not sure if I need 8s, but maybe it's something to think about.

I had bought just one Yamaha HS8 just to try and I was very happy with it and my Helix.Great detail and depth.
I don't need stereo just for practice and it is great to edit the sound for a studio and live vibe.
I record through a pair of Genelecs and the spread of sound is smily great.
I love your videos, your playing and A1 communication.
Thank you.

I had the Kali LP8 v2 with the FM9. Couldn’t return them fast enough. I went through all the factory presets on the FM9. They sound awful on the Kali. I’ve tried the line 6 powercab and it still sounds awful. They both make the FM9 sound like my Marshall code 50. They all sound so muffled. I then ran the FM9 through a Seymour Duncan Powerstage 170 into a 2x12 cab with V30s. Better but still dark, muffled, and lifeless. I then ran the FM9 through the Fryette Powerstation into a 2x12 cab with V30s and FINALLY got it to sound good. Hopefully this helps someone.

The best FRFR is out there somewhere and I'm using it for my NAM Player. Hint: it has a class AB amplifier, not class D.

What is the signal chain ?
From the quadcortex is the signal directly going to kalu aidio lp or there is audio interface and computer also involved?

Anyone have an opinion on the Fender Tonemaster Fr10 or 12 versus the Kali Audio LP8 V2 for home guitar? I really want to try the Fender. But if the Kalis actually sound great for guitar, and I get the added bonus of having good studio monitors that’d be cool. They’re the same price. Using a pair of JBL 305 MK2 right now and not happy with guitar tones. Also have used the HeadRush Fr, did f like. I had an Alto TS315 and TS312 and actually liked them both. I’m used to actual cabs but can’t deal with a guitar cab any longer. Thanks for any opinions.

I agree with your thoughts on FRFR speakers vs studio monitors.I have a pair of Friedman 500W FRFR wedges They are cool and loud (and heavy), and are made for live situations, but they don't have the response of studio monitors. A while back, I purchased a pair of Kali LPC6 studio monitors for work. I am a design engineer in a speaker design company. For the money, Kali Audio product are a great value. For people playing at home with digital platforms, no question, studio monitors are way to go. And I will say the Kali Audio studios monitors sound great!

It wasn't until I got my Helix rack and set up a recording Mac and played through the 4 8" monitors (Presonus & Mackie) where the clarity and definition just smacked me in the face, this was followed up with allot of A/B from my greenback loaded PPC412, my Neo Creamback loaded PPC212v, and my 1x12 creamback friedman cab, a few combos, and finally my AC15HW1X to decide I have some cabs for sale...

I dont have the speakers or the interface for it, but I have a couple plugins that will do dolby 5.1. I would love one day to have a setup for that lol.

I'd like to hear em in person. I'm still using my 20 year old Event 20/20's and I've yet to find a monitor under $500 that even comes close to them.
