rocky Dennis was born with an extremely rare bone dysplasia which caused his facial bone features to contort and grow at an abnormally fast rate. Doctors told his mother, Florence “Rusty” Dennis, that the boy would suffer multiple disabilities because of his disease, and would most likely die before he turned seven.

I went to school with Rocky. Everyone treated him kindly. He had a lot of friends. I never saw anyone treat him unkindly. He was just one of us.

I've always been a huge fan of Bob Seger, but I gained even more respect for him after hearing what he did after Mask came out.Rocky was a big fan of Bruce Springsteen's, his music was supposed to be used in the movie.His management wouldn't allow it. Bob's music was used instead, he actually took his royalty check to Rusty & gave it to her.Bob is a great person.

Rocky's condition gave him a Hell of a burden to carry. He met that challenge with dignity and grace. I've watched the movie about his life many times and each time it's taught me to shut up complaining about anything. No one I know has ever indured what this young man did. Count your blessings and carry your burden with grace and dignity. We still love you Rocky.

I saw this movie multiple times, this story about Rocky Dennis was inspiring . He was a very smart boy who lived life the best he could . All I really remember is the scene where she finds him dead. I was born in 88 so I didn't know Cher as a musician or celebrity but only as an actress in this film and she actually did a more serviceable job than any of todays acting celebrities.
