Shamura for favorite Bishop. I just sort of latched onto them for some reason.

Shamura feels very guilty about this whole mess too. It's very clear with how they talk about it. How they encouraged their brother, how it their plan to bring him down... Yet, Shamura still loved Narinder and did send Aym and Baal as a way to make it so he wasn't lonely. It is questionable sure, but I think it's clear before you indoctrinate them that they do feel remorse for this. Because they refer to the endless battle as their punishment.

Actually, I think this is why I like Shamura so much. I may not agree with some choices of course, but even they show how Gods are flawed just like mortals. .. And I just did a mental deep dive I did not intend!

Also I love that the Blessed Shamura's Skull relic reminds me of some official art. I bet the look on my face was priceless when I saw it!

I got the impression from the dialogue that the chains are made FROM what they lost, not that they were injured in the fight itself. Otherwise they would simply regenerate the parts, but they're currently in use in sealing him up, so they can't.

That's always why NOW they can be restored(to Shimura, Heket, and Kallamar. For some reason Leshy refuses). The materials are now freed up, since the chains no longer matter.

Think about this from Narinder's perspective. You are death incarnate. your found family are chaos, famine, war, and pestilence. They have choices to make, able to bring feasts as well as famine; health instead of sickness; peace beyond chaos; and love after war, but you are unchanging as death, only bringing souls down one path, in one way, for centuries. Then, your sibling War encourages you to try something new, something different, something unnatural, and it works! Not only that, but mortals call it a miracle and flock towards your following, singing your praises and devoting themselves to you, death itself!

Then, one day you're called to council by the other Bishops. You go to them, considering thanking War again for giving you the idea to resurrect your acolytes, only to be attacked by your kin and sealed in the land of the dead seemingly out of knowhere. I'd be pissed too, if I were punished for taking good advice by the people who gave it to me!

it was never that narinder was just growing too powerful, it was that they were afraid that mortals would no longer have a need for the gods after they had got what they wanted from narinder. in shamuras words, "death must be the end. otherwise, what use would they have for gods?"

But in the meantime Shamura saw the future that a lamb will free Nari so the bishops decided to kill all lamb tribes before it could happen and then it created a COTL event in the game.

Narinder was actually known as The One Who Waits from the beginning, or at least he is implied to

"He waits at the end of a sharpened blade. He waits in the jaws of a hungry beast. He waits at the bottom of a dangerous fall. The inevitable fate that can not be outrun."

Waiting is and always will be the god of deaths's job

“And then you showed up. You dangerous, mute, lunatic” - Narinder (probably)

This has been known a long time? Shamura, when you are talking to them on your way to kill them mentions how they regret teaching Nari about change. Chaos, famine, disease, and war are all things that can change and be order, feast, health, and peace and then change back again, as is natural for them. But Narinder is death. Death should go one direction, never back alive to dead. Narinder tried to break this, and when his siblings planned to stop him, he stole their eyes, voice, ears, and mind.

Fun fact, the missing body parts on the other four bishops are based off of a saying “speak no evil, see no evil, hear no evil, think no evil”, or so it goes

I swear it kills me every time I realize Narinder is the victim in that situation

After talking with Shamura before their boss fight, they mention that while they, Kallamar, Heket, and Leshy can be the inverse of war, plague, famaine, and chaos, death should not be allowed to flow backwards as it’s “most unnatural.” I had interpreted their betrayal of Narinder as the four bishops wanting to preserve the natural order, but it honestly makes sense for their characters for the entire conflict being the four of them jealous their brother had an edge over them and was gaining a mass following. It makes the betrayal all the more petty and sad.

If Narinder, the one who governs death, can revive followers, just be nice to him for crying out loud.
You tried killing the one who is death itself, so death came to you.
None of this game's plot would've happened if the bishops just decided to not betray him.

Its sad cuz in the end, Narinder just wanted to be his sibling's equal in a way. We dont really know how many followers he had originally, but probably not as many as his siblings did, considering they could offer good things in exchange for their worship. If anything felt like he was mostly getting the scraps as all those who were sacrifised were sent to him even tho their devotions did not belong to him.
I do understand the "threat" of their livelyhood, since why worship them if you can workship someone who can essentially make you immortal?
Still is immortality really everything? Its not like it will stop you from getting badly sick or starve and etc.. sure you could be brought back if you died, but it would be kinda worse fate than death if you were stuck forever suffering these things, no?
Maybe if the Bishops had been smart about it, they could have worked out some sort of deal/balance with Narinder.
Or who knows maybe im speaking nonesense LOL.

The Bishops were just jealous that Narindar's Death Drip was better than their horsemanning around.

Ah, so longing for his revival ability is why they betrayed him. Still, envy doesn’t justify them betraying him!

All the bishops were evil but Shamura still cared about the rest of the bishops
