Sanding a mouldy deck!

This client wanted to get rid of all the mould and dirt built up on their beautiful timber Merbau deck which was hiding underneath.

Started with 36grit sandpaper and then moved onto 60grit.

Just look at that colour come to life!

I knew this was a good idea! Ive been telling my family we should do this to our deck instead of powerwashing and bleaching. Im glad i have this video to show them now

Can you use this kind of sander on uneven deck boards?

Was just told by a builder who really understands the nature of wood to spray down my cedar deck with Pool Shock and let it sit for 24 hours then hose it off & there will be no need to sand before applying new coat of stain. Gonna try it soon

Middle part of the wood looks hard to get to…how’d u sand that out? I’m sure many of the boards have cupping

I'm not sure if this is a fact but I was told by many people in the trade of sanding floors. And they said to never blow out the dust out of your drum sander but to always vacuum it out.

It's not worth the money or time, deck stains don't last long, not worth all the cost, 🧐🤔😳🥺🤭
