I went to Michigan for church camp as a teenager, and when we went tubing I think the adults driving the boats might've been harboring just a bit of suppressed anger considering the way they seemed to purposefully be steering us directly into the wakes of each other's boats

That Muskie story reminds me of when we were fishing the middle channel for Walleye out on the St Claire, and I hooked one that took a half hour to get up to the boat. Thought I’d hooked a sturgeon, but could tell it was a Wally when it’s pale eye the size of a dinner plate came up to the port side of the boat. Then the boat rocked and I heard a thump, looked over the starboard side, and there was the Walleye’s other eye!

I grew up with a cabin “Up North” in MN. I recognize all these folks! Especially Dad. Although my Dad made sure his boat engine couldn’t pull a skier that was much older than about 12 yrs old. That way he didn’t have unruly teens interfering with his fishing and gear. All this was way before the big pull behind floats. Miss you Dad.
