Statrology is unironically an amazing term to mock people who point to statistics without understanding any of it and just saying what they want to say

Lib left seeing the survey about mental illnesses: "hmmm I tick all the boxes"
Auth right seeing the survey: "why isnt homosexuality on the list?"

The fetish compass was unironically the most interesting thing you've put up on this channel. Stimulating along multiple dimensions.

the most hilarious part of this chart is substance abuse disorder being the closest to lib-right

"I don't have the dopamine to fact check that" needs to be a hat or shirt or something.

Arguably it's both. If you identify that you have a mental illness, than you are more likely to align yourself with political ideologies that create more opportunities for people like you. Alternatively, you align yourself with the ideology first, than you are more likely to recognize your illness in the comfort of circles that support that.

I work in a psychiatric hospital. Interestingly enough the one patient who talks the most about politics (he has schizophrenia and autism) describes himself as Conservative, but when you talk to him about specific issues, most opinions he offers sound more centre-left. He's very concerned about climate change (he called Rishi Sunak "that damned fool" for not attending COP 27) and is really anti-Putin. He even tried to send his artwork to Zelensky as a present.

One thing that is important is that for some of these mental illnesses, people are born with them before they become liberal, and they will probably skew more towards the side that will actually accept them as humans

One of my favorite textbooks on statistics actually has a chapter named "Astrology" where they talk about how easy it is to pretend you're making useful predictions with your models (and the importance of not doing so). So your "Statstrology" term has a little bit of academic backing.

Edit: book is Statistical Rethinking for those who are interested

I sure do love making extremely specific lists about random things. And maybe, i can put myself on the list and finally feel a fleeting moment of joy. I sure do love not having schizophrenia! Thank you Jregular!!

Dude, I dead ass went to therapy and they gave borderline personality disorder a cute new name. EUPD, emotionally unstable personality disorder. Its cute because they tried to insinuate my extreme depression and suicidal thoughts is a violent mental illness.
