RIVALRY GAME NEEDS OVERTIME! Chicago Suburbs Basketball is Back! Undefeated Teams Bloom vs Thornton!

Bloom Trojans (Chicago Heights, IL) came into the soldout rivalry game versus undefeated Thornton ranked #1 in Illinois by the AP #1 in Chicago area by the Chicago Sun Times. Thornton was ranked #14 by the Chicago Sun Times.
While Bloom has no top 100 ranked players nationally, they have 5 Division 1 level seniors. Thornton (Harvey, IL) has no d1 recruits but they battled and pulled off the 61-58 upset!
DJ Williams finished with seven points and 17 rebounds (including a huge one at the end).
Bloom star Christian Shumate finished with 12 points, 14 rebounds and six blocks. Thornton's Ari Brown led the Wildcats with 18 points. Brandon Hall added 13 points and five rebounds and Sean Burress scored 12.
Bloom (7-1, 2-1) was without injured senior point guard Donovan Newby (UW Milwaukee) for the third consecutive game.
Dante Maddox Jr. led the Blazing Trojans with 16 points and seven rebounds and senior Justin Moore added 13 points and seven rebounds. Keshawn Williams finished with 11 points. Minnesota commit Martice Mitchell battled foul trouble all night.
