2017 Infiniti QX60 Review

My thoughts on the 2017 Infiniti QX60 with the 3.5L V6 engine and 7 speed automatic:
I didn’t know what to expect out of a luxury suv Nissan product. I had driven the Nissan Xterra, but that is more geared as an off-road vehicle, rather than a luxury people carrier. So all of this was new to me. Here’s what I think
If you like your cars to be packed with features, the Qx60 will tickle your fancy. The first thing I noticed was the electric power seatbelts. Much like the power seatbelts of the late 80’s and early 90’s, the seat belt moves and tightens when the driver is ready. Contrary to the belts of yester-year, the Qx60’s belts aren’t clunky or awkward. Some people wouldn’t even notice it. Other features include usb charging ports in all three rows, touch screen GPS, heated and cooled seats, and a power tailgate. The Qx60 also features a variety of driving modes, ranging from sport to eco, but that’s where I start to dislike things.
My first complaint is the gas pedal. Yes, the gas pedal. When the Qx60 is in eco mode, the gas pedal gives you more resistant. The difference is similar to running on land vs. running underwater. It’s so odd to me, and I don’t really understand the purpose behind the stiffer pedal. Is it to encourage less gas on acceleration? I have no idea, but I’m not fan.
The Qx60 is a great SUV, and is sure to sell many many units. If you’ve driven a Q50, the vehicles feel very similarly. Infiniti is really hitting it’s stride in the second half of the 2010 decade.
