Happy to see more freighter orders for Boeing.

I like the new thumbnail format that gives more basic info of the news instead of just being "massive news"

Western Global flies one of, if not the longest regularly scheduled MD-11F routes on record, ORD-ICN. I wonder if this will be one of assignments the 777F sees first.

Great video! and beautiful DHL plane at the runway!

I’d say the 777F is in a different class of aircraft than the -8. WGA is most likely trying to supplement the MD-11. FedEx has their MD-11s tied up, so it only makes sense.

Called it, I'm surprised this order was covered today given how late the news came out. It's a shame it isn't Friday today, maybe then today could've been dubbed "Freighter Friday" given the amount of cargo orders.

Any orders for Boeing is good right now the triple seven has been and still is a very good jet

WG do not have any issues with a diverse fleet. The older aircraft are paid for, so a few new 777Fs will fit in nicely, despite the $339 million (US) retail price. A small uptick in training costs is necessary, for pilots and maintainers alike. However, I wonder if WG’s business model covers on-site or off-site contract maintenance.

I’m
Guessing Western Global will be a big
777-8F customer in the years to come

Western Global still uses the old ex Lufthansa Cargo MD11F. That makes sense for the replacement of the MD11F.

By the way, Netflix will release a Documentary Movie Tomorrow (Feb 18) of the 2 B737max crashes "DOWNFALL: The Case Against Boeing"

Proof that until the A350F and 777-8F arrives the current 777F is the go to big cargo aircraft with the 747-8F being discontinued in October after little demand for it for the past 5 years

Are there older 777s being converted to cargo?

after the pandemic, the wide-body segment for passengers is deeply damaged. Until when? Anyway It has been a while since a big order for double-aisle planes order occured. Boeing is much stronger in the cargo market. With 3 plane models. But it will be interesting to see how the new A350F will be accepted by the airlines. A real competition is on track. The B777-8F is the biggest but the A350F has the longest range, will be sooner marketed and is quite cheaper. So the battle is starting already today...

Nowadays an order of just 2 B frames is exciting 😏

So it wasn’t actually a new order. Is was already on the books. Just put a name to an existing order

They should have embraced the future and go for the A350F…..

This comment on the 2 1/2 Boeing order is reported by u as exciting. But in your sneaky way is as downer as anyone can report it !
I will bet on Boeing’s part, it was only a press release .
