Levain Bakery is WORTH THE HYPE! Iconic NYC Cookie Shop Review

Out of all the best bakeries in NYC, there may be no more famous bakery than Levain Bakery. Levain Bakery specializes in cookies, and its incredible Levain Bakery cookie recipe is surely under lock and key! Most notable are the Levain Bakery chocolate chip cookies, with the Levain Bakery chocolate chip walnut cookies being my favorite. Many others are partial to the Levain Bakery oatmeal raisin cookies.

Since opening in 1995 in Manhattan, Levain Bakery has now expanded to several locations in Manhattan and Brooklyn. It has even recently expanded outside of NYC, with its newest locations being the Levain Bakery DC location and the Levain Bakery Los Angeles location. The cookies have been around for decades now, but have really become trendy the past several years. Is Levain Bakery truly the best cookie in NYC, and one of the best cookies in the US? Or is Levain Bakery overrated and a tourist trap?

Hey big fan of your show, have you ever been to Chirping Chicken on the upper west side? If not you should really try it. The half of chicken well done is very delicious 🤤 Also, you should try magnolia bakery if you never been there before as well.

This is New York City. The cost of doing business there is exorbitant, from rent, if applicable, to taxes, required insurances, the cost of food and supplies, wages, workman's comp so on and so forth. Hence the high prices of pretty much everything.

Arizmendi Bakery in San Francisco has great pastries. They also make breads and pizzas which are popular. Their mint chocolate chocolate chip cookies is awesome.

My daughter lives a few blocks from the Upper East Side Location. I'm a real Cookie Monster. But sometimes just one half of a Levain cookie is enough for one sitting.

I love Levain. I used to be able to get them frozen at whole foods here in North Texas but that seems to have went away. When I'm in the city I get like 3 cookies and nibble on them for a week

I went there for the first time in September and had the double chocolate chip one and it was amazing! Unfortunately I can’t have walnuts which really sucks. But I’m glad I was able to have one of the cookies there and I was not disappointed. Can’t wait to go back again!

Went to Levain in Harlem yesterday! They are SO GOOD!!! I actually love the two-chip chocolate cookie. The double chocolate is exactly as you described, it's almost too much of a good thing which makes it perfect.

Remember many times making the trek to the UWS & standing on long lines to get just one. As for the cookie, best choc chip anywhere. Begins & ends with choc chip walnut - the walnut adds texture, oil & a good contrast in flavor to the sweetness of the chocolate. Recently, I’ll go to Chip City for my cookie fix - not as good because no walnuts in the choc chip but more locations for convenience. Also, Chip City Confetti cookie is the best butter cookie anywhere.

Us I loved your revue of the Levine cookies.I had them once and they were fantastic. They were worth every penny of the price. It is too bad that that that I never get to New York.
