He saved me three years ago and I haven't had a single moment of doubt. Why? Well its simple really. He saved me and I had nothing to do with it. It was all Him. I've doubted my righteousness and my Holiness but realising that Jesus was glorified on the cross settled it for me and brought clarity as to why I've never doubted and never will. The definition of the word salvation is something that happens to you. What these men are talking about is self assurance. Ephesians 2:8-9

My issue has always been me questioning my belief. Im a Bible reader and dable in apologetics but keep battling the thought that if i truely believed, id love more, read more and just have more actions toward my belief. Im not talking abt works salvations but rather what James talks abt.

I'm so sad my grandfather died believing he had to do good works for God. He longs for God but he doesn't know Him and it angers me that I couldn't do anything about it. I only caused him pain. It's my fault but God allowed it to happen. I wish He was saved.

Thank you for this answer. Look to the Cross. Trust Christ and bear fruit in the lifelong process of sanctification. There are many times I doubt my salvation because my heart deceives me and the the accuser says I'm no good. When it happens I look to what Christ did on the Cross for those who repent and believe. Then I thank him and marvel that He would choose to save someone like me.

How do I know that I am a true child of God?

1. By having a conviction that salvation is achieved through Jesus Christ alone.

2. By building your conviction or belief through the teaching of old testament as taught by Jesus and the new testament writers.

3. By experiencing the sanctifying work of the Holy Spirit as per the teaching of the JESUS AND New testament writers..
