There's this one guy I know who is discerning priesthood and got rejected from several orders, and despite his disappointment I told him this:

God's loudest language is Providence.

If it's meant to be, He will make sure it happens, whether that be putting the right person in the right place at the right time or by preventing something from happening. It's not worth stressing over figuring out His will; God is all powerful and will make sure you know, whether it be the easy way or the hard way.

You provided such clarity for me when you said "How do we know it's God's will? - because it actually happens." Yet, everything else I read (Catholic) says, no, not everything that happens is God's will. I am very confused by this contradiction. Thoughts?

Jesus has been very firm with me about going to mass as many days as possible ( He gives me days off sometimes)and praying at certain times. I spend about 3 hours a day praying. These I cannot refrain from doing. I thought of joining a 3rd Order and took some steps but nothing came of it. I asked Him to please order me around 😂 because I'm clueless without that. ❤❤❤

Trying to understand God's will has been one of the most challenging things in my spiritual life. I didn't think it would ever be possible to truly figure out God's will for me in much of anything. And yet, when I learned about my current job being open, I was so sure I wanted to do it that it must be God's will. 'When you know you know, ' is very cliché, but I think there might be some truth to it.
