We are joined by one of the two winners of Pride of Britain’s ‘Child of Courage’ award, Ravi Adelekan, who’s here with his dad Olugbenga. This award is for someone battling against the odds to help others, or putting themselves at risk to save someone in danger.
Despite his own ongoing difficulties, Ravi, along with his family, is striving to raise £250,000 through 'Ravi's Dream' to support The Brain Tumour Charity and Brainstrust. Ravi made a charity music video of the song ‘A Million Dreams’ from The Greatest Showman. Featuring an amazing array of internationally acclaimed musicians including Bastille, Damon Albarn, Paloma Faith. All funds go to two essential brain tumour charities, The Brain Tumour Charity and Brainstrust. In April this year, Ravi put on a charity football match to raise money.
The Pride of Britain team arranged for Ravi, his Mum and younger sister to attend a Newcastle football match in Brighton. Ravi is a huge Newcastle fan. Members of the team, Kieran Trippier and Bruno Guimaraes, surprised Ravi by calling him down to the side of the pitch and giving him an envelope saying he had won the award.
